I almost forgot I have this blog! I found an AWESOME website the other day that I just had to share. I've already printed several things from it and I can see how some of the organization techniques will change my life!

Are you ready? It's called Prepared Not Scared.

I found a couple of really cool websites lately that I thought I'd share:

http://www.designfreebies.org/ (this one is more for graphic designers, but it does have some other cool free downloads)

http://www.ldshandouts.blogspot.com/ (a great place to print adorable VT handouts!)

http://www.howdoesshe.com/ (this has some fun and inexpensive craft tutorials)

I was helping Bria with her homework tonight. It's funny how new vocabulary can really not make sense to a kindergartner. First, she was telling me that their big test is tomorrow (I think it's the IRI). We've been practicing for months, so she should be fine. She said that the teacher has a treat for them if they give their best "effort". "Mom, the problem is, I don't know what an 'effort' is!" Too funny.

Then, later, as we were doing her reading, she had to match one of three words to a picture. The picture was an old style fountain pen that you dip in ink. The three word choices were: pan, pen, pin.  She said. "I know the right answer is pen, but why did they put a paint brush in the picture?" I told her that it wasn't a paint brush, but an old-fashioned kind of pen that they used to dip in ink. In reply, she said, "But, I just don't understand why it's so fashionable."

I better clarify my last post. I've had a couple of people wondering and I don't want anyone to worry. Yes...Dave has a job. And, yes, his job is a school counselor right now. But, we aren't sure yet if it will be a permanent position. He is kind of filling in for the time being, but we have high hopes that this will be permanent. He is technically not supposed to be a school counselor until he is certified, which he will be now that he has passed his comprehensive exams. So, we feel very blessed that they would even consider him to be a temporary fill in.

Dave passed his comprehensive exams!!!! Yeah!!! We are so relieved to have that part taken care of. Now....to find a job.

Being a very warm spring day, Max asked if he could play outside. In his new birthday clothes, he headed out the door. I called after him "Max, Don't. DO. NOT. play in the dirt! Okay?" In reply, he said "Okay. Only the mud!" Glad he clarified. Welcome to spring!!

I was talking to Max the other day and the subject turned to moms and why we have them. I asked Max what he thought a mom's job is.
"Moms get kids in trouble," he said. "So they can help kids be on Santa's nice list."
Okay....so I guess my job is to be the bad guy and Santa pretty much gets credit for all things good.
